State Lab Requirement & Overview of Labs

For admission to a Regents examination in science (including The Living Environment), a student must complete 1200 minutes of hands-on laboratory with satisfactory laboratory reports.  Laboratory reports must be kept on file for at least six months after the student takes a Regents examination in science. Labs include a variety of activities including experimental design, examination of live and preserved biological specimens, bacterial culture, microscopic investigations, biochemical studies, graphing, paper modeling and various simulations involving student "actors".   Labs vary widely in length.  In general we conduct one to two labs per week.

Lab reports for Regents Biology are completed directly on lab handouts which are kept in a lab folder for each student.
