Biology Mrs. Kilmartin Pig Dissection |
Animal Dissection
Fetal pigs are used for dissection because they are remarkably similar to
humans. Dissection allows students to learn about the anatomy and physiology of
animals, and to make comparisons between different animals. Dissection
also helps students realize how tissues, organs, and organ systems are related.
Lab Grade:
A student's grade for the pig dissection lab will be based on the following
criteria:

Students can be excused from the pig dissection lab and will be assigned the

place of the pig dissection, you may choose to do a research paper on a
physiology topic of your choice and my approval.
