Pelican Text Registration and Logon
as edited Wed. 10/10/07
You'll need the
correct codes way below before you go to the ph web site. Copy them down!
1. Try
www.phschool.com/access and it may bring you to the correctsite.
or
Instead open Internet Explorer
Brower (the big e) and copy the very same
URL I have printed
in the prior line into the browser
address window. Then it works to the correct destination.
2. Scroll down to Covered Titles (in blue)
3. Select Campbell biology Concepts & Connections 5e (for
fifth edition)
4. Click on Student Registration then say okay
5. Accept the Licensing Agreement
6. Enter the six word Access codes as per the Alphabetical
Chart I provided below.
7. Enter 12065 as the CP ZIP.
8. Enter United States as the country (at the top of the list)
9. Find the NEXT button on the bottom far right of the screen (It was
hidden on mine!)
10. Complete all data (Clue, school is initially OTHER, then fill in Shen
on next box)
Be careful, I tried a student sign on as
SDKlein, but found out that I was blocked since another
user (also me) already had that user ID. I
then tried putting a series of numbers after the SDKlein &
found one that worked. Make sure you
are listed as a new user the first time.
11. Again the NEXT button is hiding on the right, but find and click it.
12. We don't have a class ID, so go into the Login Now button. If I
get a class ID later, it will allow you
to take the several quizzes per
chapter and have the scores registered. But I doubt I'll ever assign an
entire chapter, so this would not be
a fair way to evaluate you.
A change in future quiz practices!
As stated verbally on 10/5/07 &
again on 10/9/07, I plan
starting for the quiz of 10/12 to select a
few multiple choice questions from the sample ones in the practice
quizzes in each chapter and put
them on my real quizzes. This offers two opportunities:
1) to be able to work sample questions in advance other than those on my
help session quizzes
2) to be able to see a few actual quiz questions in advance
You, however, have multiple
practice quizzes available for each chapter; key concepts, activities &
chapter quizzes. That gives me
a wide variety of new sources of quiz questions.
and now the CODES
Our student logon codes consist of SIX words (They're
idea, not mine!).
Each teacher gets up to 50 students
per code, but I have over 100 students.
I have obtained three different sets
of SIX word codes for my students.
I can't use one set of codes for two
classes, do I decided to organize codes alphabetically as follows:
Your Last Name
Student Six Word Codes (CAPITALIZED)
A through G
SSNAST SETUP VALLE DRIED
CENTO BALES
H through P
SSNAST FLUFF MAPLE MEWED
GUYOT NINES
Q through Z
SSNAST CHOLI MAPLE MEWED
HELOT EANES
Since I have spare codes above, if set X does not work, the try set X+1. They should all work!
Once registered, here's a quick
log-in link which you can access quickly from this site.
http://wps.aw.com/bc_campbell_concepts_5 This link works great!
You may
want to bookmark the URL just above. Alternatively e-mail it to yourself
and
then remember
the date of the e-mail for quick access. (My date was 10/3) It can be saved with
your code name and ID
code already entered to save time.
or go to
www.campbellbiology.com
(there is no http:// ahead of the www)
and click on the picture of the Pelican
