      Why did the teacher say may and not does?  _ JUST BECAUSE YOU MAKE AN
EGG OR A SPERM DOESN'T MEAN YOU MUST MAKE AN EMBRYO!  WE
ARE ALL OF REPRODUCTIVE AGE, BUT I HOPE THAT ONLY I AM A PARENT_

2.      The _  SPERM _  (a male gamete -- let's mathematically call it 'n')  +
the _ EGG/OVUM _   (a  female gamete  -- let's also call it 'n') unite during 
the process of   FERTILIZATION  to  form a  _ 2 n _   (algebraic term) cell
known as a  Z Y G O T E.
