Review Books:
Social Studies teachers will be asking students to buy Regents Review Books
from March 2 - March 15th. Students can turn in a check for $11.00 made
out to the "Shen HS SS Student Activity Fund" for a review book or call the
publisher and order the book over the phone. Call Pearson/Prentice
Hall at 800-848-9500. You will need to know which book you need! If you order
the book directly from the publisher, they will charge you $10.97 plus
shipping/handling. You will need a credit card to order it from the publisher.

Interested in using the online version of the Global, U.S.
History or Economics textbook? Talk to your teacher about getting the
Activation Code for these books published by McDougal Littell. The
activation code will allow you to set up a student account at
www.classzone.com. The librarians
at East and West and computer lab staff also have the activation codes and can
help you set up your account. There are many
resources for you to use -- in addition to the online book. For example,
you can take practice tests on line, find and use maps, get help with
note-taking and reading primary sources. Plus -- it's free!!

Shenendehowa High School Social Studies GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
All students graduating from Shenendehowa High School are
required to complete a minimum of 4 Units in Social Studies and
pass the Regents Examinations in Global History &
geography
AND U.S. History & Government. Some students may choose to earn
additional units by completing one or more Social Studies
electives.

We offer Honors level courses in Grade 10, 11 and 12. They
are:
- Grade 10: World Culture/World Literature-Honors
- Grade 11: American Studies Honors Option or Advanced Placement
U.S. History
- Grade 12: Syracuse University Project Advance Public Affairs
- Grade 12: Advanced Economics Honors
We offer two electives: Syracuse University Project Advance
Sociology and Syracuse University Project Advance Psychology.
Students may be accelerated in middle school Social Studies, and
enter the high school program by completing Global History &
Geography-9 in grade 8. They will take the Syracuse University
Project Advance courses in their senior year. For more information
