I feel that the bus drive home is one of the most relaxing parts of the day because it sums up school and is a great time to just talk and have fun. Apparently, my bus driver thinks otherwise. She does not allow us to talk and wrote many people referrals because they were telling other people to quiet down. She thought this was mockery when really we were just being polite. She says that her job is very hard because we are such troublesome kids but she even has an aide who helps her. Isn’t it her job to take care of us? I’m not trying to sound ungrateful, but this is her job. She has to able to do it or else I don’t feel safe on this bus. By the way it is route 328 in the Acadia Middle School in the afternoon. Thanks for your time, I appreciate what you do.

A.  Thank you for sharing your concerns with us, we will look into this issue and hopefully things will improve. The bus driver’s main responsibility is your safety, and it takes a team (driver/students) to make sure this happens. We do ask that students keep their voices down to conversation level so that the school bus driver can concentrate on the roadway to keep everyone safe, loud noises can deter the driver from hearing the two-way radio and can be very distracting.
