I just read the report sent about the high lead levels in drinking fountains in high school is. When is the last time drinking fountains have been checked for the levels, or any other water sources in the schools?

A. In September, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed a law mandating that New York State public schools conduct lead testing on all sources of water used for drinking or cooking purposes by September 30, 2016 (Grades K-5) and October 31, 2016 (Grades 6-12).  Prior to that, the district tested the main water supply for all of our schools in March for lead and other common contaminates and metals including coliform and all results came back below the action levels per the Department of Health and EPA regulations.
