I recently had to write an in-class essay in 40 minutes. The teacher had been absent for a whole week, therefore the whole class was forced to learn the material themselves without aid from a teacher. When we were asking questions through email, the teacher just told us “to relax, and it would be easy.” She didn’t even answer the questions. However, I became very stressed because the teacher was known for making very big understatements. When we actually wrote the essay, nobody knew the format we were writing with, or what should be in the essay. We didn’t even know how many countries we were suppose to have in the essay, as the teacher said something different than what the instructions said. I was wondering if anything could be done about this?

A. I would suggest talking directly to the teacher. If you are not satisfied then talk to your principal.
