Math Homework

A letter is sent home at the start of each chapter to inform you of the activities you and your child can do together.  Theses activities are meant to reinforce and enrich your child’s understanding of the lessons taught in school.  In addition, there is a note at the bottom of each math paper that provides more tips. Homework is given Monday through Thursday to reinforce the skills or concepts taught in school each day.  Your child should also practice addition and subtraction facts to 18 for speed and accuracy.

Math Challenges/Extra Practice

These are to be completed independently.  Parents should only clarify directions, and be there to share in the excitement when your child figures it out.

1.    Print the triangle problem solving worksheet.  Write the numbers 1 through 6 in the circles of the triangular frame so that the side of each triangle will equal a sum of 9.  Each number can only be used once.

2.    Do the above activity again, but find a sum of 10, 11, or 12.
