KARIGON PLAYGROUND
There are two playgrounds. One is for K-2 and the other one is for 3-5. Both playgrounds are big and fun. Both of them have swings. There is a rock climbing wall and a large field. There is also a place where you talk through a tube and it comes out the other one.
In the winter, you need to bring your snow stuff: snow pants, winter coat, boots and gloves. You can have a great time at recess in Karigon.
CAFETERIA
We have four lunch ladies: Mrs. Smith, Mrs. Nemetz, Mrs. Empie and Mrs. Valente. The lunch ladies bring us outside. There are some rules in the cafeteria: raise your hand and wait for a lunch lady to say it’s okay to throw your trash away.
There is a hot lunch line and a deli line. In the deli line they serve sandwiches, soup and salad. In the hot lunch line they serve different kinds of hot foods. One type of hot food is Italian dunkers, which are bread sticks that have garlic and other seasonings on them, served with tomato sauce and a cheese stick. Another favorite hot lunch is the chicken nuggets.
NURSE NILES
Our nurse is very kind and even fun. Kids go to her for hearing and vision tests or special needs in the screening room. There is also a treatment room for storing medicines.
COUNSELING CORNER - MRS. REINISCH
Are you having trouble getting along with someone? Go to the Counseling Center! Mrs. Reinisch is the counselor. She is very friendly. Her office is nice, and it makes kids feel good when they are in it. Mrs. Reinisch knows what she is doing and she helps kids solve problems. Mrs. Reinisch uses Peer Mediation to help solve problems. She also helps students with study skills.
