OUR NEW LIBRARY - MEDIA CENTER - MRS. WALTERS

According to Mrs. Walters, our Librarian, there is several thousand dollars worth of books in our collection of 14,000 books!  There are also 8 computers, an Ikea Projector and encyclopedias.  Our library was built the same year as the school in 1967.

• Mrs. Bloss is our Library Aide
• You get to learn about the Dewey Decimal System.
• In First Grade you can take out 2 books.  In Fifth Grade you can take out 3 books.
• Book Buddies
• In 3^rd, 4^th & 5^th grades, you learn how to use the library.

OUR NEW ART ROOM - MRS. MARZITELLI

Karigon’s art teacher is named Mrs. Marzitelli.  She is kind.  We do many fun projects including Silvergraphics.  Silvergraphics is an activity where you draw a picture then you can have it transferred onto an object.  Some of the objects are tee-shirts, teddy bears with your picture on its shirt, mugs and dry erase boards.  We try to make it look the best.  Of course, you draw in art class.  Karigon’s art class is fun in many ways.  I have just told you a couple of them!

OUR OLD ART ROOM

                GENERAL MUSIC -MRS. VALENTINE

In music you learn about reading music and singing.  We get to play fun instruments like the recorder and you even compose music.  In 4^th and 5^th grade you can learn a string instrument or join the Karigon Chorus.  Our Band begins in 5^th grade.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

We play games like bowling, cross-country skiing, soccer, floor hockey and many more.  We have nice coaches, too.  We even have intramurals.  Intramurals is an after school or before school program to do some sports like floor hockey, gymnastics, soccer and basketball.  We even do a made up game called Crazy Karigon Gator Ball.

OUR NEW COMPUTER LAB - MRS. FENSTERER

Karigon’s Computer Lab teacher is Mrs. Fensterer.  She knows a lot about computers and how to use them.  In Computer Lab, you have a password and a user name to log on.  We type reports and research for the reports and when you finish a project early, you have choice time.  The computer lab is a favorite place.
