State Reports

After working in United States Regions groups, students have researched various states. They have used the Karigon Media Center to research in encyclopedias, almanacs, non-fiction books, and the internet. An important part of the class research project was to cite sources. The students learned how to cite various resources including web-based informational sites.

Area and Perimeter

As part of our geometry study in math, fifth graders are working with formulas for area and perimeter. If your planning a project at home such as building or installing rugs, ask your fifth grader to help you figure out the area and perimeter of the room!

February is Biography Month

Mrs. Palmieri's fifth grade students will be reading about famous Americans in honor of Black History Month. Students will read about such great Americans as Frederick Douglas, Rosa Parks, Sojourner Truth, and Harriet Tubman to name a few.
