Independent Reading

Independent Reading during the school year:

In addition to our classroom reading, students are required to independently read both inside and outside of school. They must always have an independent reading book available to read during free read periods. Students will be able to share what they've read through monthly book projects.

Book projects or assigned activities will be discussed and a due date will be given.

Our balanced literacy program consists of shared, guided, modeled and independent reading.

Scholastic Book Orders

You can now order books online at www.scholastic.com. Many catalogs will be available to choose from and our class earns a free book with every online order.  On-line book orders - class code GLVKQ. I will be sending home Scholastic book orders at least once a month. This is a great way to purchase books at very reasonable prices. When you send in an order, please make your check payable to the company for the exact amount of purchase.
