READING By: Reagan, Jessica, and Katie We are almost done with our Trophies book. We only have 1 more story left called The Down and Up Fall! We’re finishing reading journals. We are going to start literature circles again. In literature circles we will read about kids with problems and how they solve them. The literature circle jobs are a passage master, discussion director, illustrator, vocabulary enricher and connector.
Spelling and Grammar By: Shannon and Elizabeth In Grammar we have been working on irregular verbs, contractions and negatives, adverbs, comparing with adverbs, and prepositions. Now we are working on prepositional phrases. They are phrases that include a preposition, its object, and any words between. We are almost done with grammar for the year. What we are doing in spelling is VCV words and 3 syllable words. We are almost done. We will be done in June.
Writing By Madison B. We’ve just finished writing picture books. We were doing something called mentor authors. That’s where you pick a author and copy their style of writing. Right now in writing we are working on writing poetry. Instead of rhyming we are writing free verse poems so we don’t have to rhyme.
