Math Connects

Use Your iPod or Computer to Practice Multiplication Facts!
(ask an adult -- or better yet, a teenager -- for help if you don't know how to load photos onto your iPod)

The flashcards are saved as .jpg images. Instructions for synching and viewing may vary slightly based on your particular equipment and version of iTunes.

iPod Viewing Instructions:

  1. Each pack of flashcards on the right is saved as a .zip file.  To download the file, right-click (control-click for Mac users) on the link and select "Save Target As..." (or "Download Linked File" for Mac users). Make sure you know where you are saving these files on your home computer.

  2. Once downloaded, use a program such as WinZip or Free Zip Wizard to extract the images from the .zip file. Most Windows users simply need to right-click on the zip file (it will look like a folder with a zipper), select Extract All, and follow the prompts.

  3. Connect your iPod to your computer. iTunes should open automatically. Click the iPod icon under Devices on the left. Click the Photos tab along the top. Use the drop-down menu to select Choose Folder and navigate to the folder where you saved and the unzipped flashcards. Click the Apply button (bottom right) to begin synching the flashcards to your iPod.

  4. To view the flash cards, select Photos from the main menu of your iPod, then select the folder in which the images are stored.

  5. Click on the first thumbnail image to begin the flash card slideshow.  Click the "next" button of your iPod to advance to the next flashcard.

TIME AND CALENDAR

86,400 seconds = 1 day

1,440 minutes = 1 day

24 hours = 1 day

7 days = 1 week

52 weeks = 1 year

If you sleep an average of 8 hours a day, you will spend a total of 2,920 hours a year sleeping. By the time you are 10 years old, you will have slept away more than 3 years of your life!

30 days has September,

April, June, and November.

All the rest have 31... no, wait!

February has only 28!

Except in Leap Year, that's the time,

When February's days are 29!
