Grading Policy

 

 

Each student will begin each quarter with a grade of 100.  Points will be deducted from the student's total if they fail to fully excel in the grading categories below.

 

 

DAILY GRADE (Weight = 80%) - 4 points / day

 

Affective/ Conduct:  Social Development (General Interaction with Classmates)

 

Effort:  Physical and Mental Motivation to Learn

 

Preparation:  Having Appropriate PE Clothing for Class (Top, Bottom, AND Sneakers, Removing ALL Jewelry (see policy below) and Gum, Tying Loose Hair Back.

 

 

District Wide Jewelry Policy

 

Explanation:  Each day students will have the opportunity to receive a maximum of 4 points.  Should a student not fulfill the daily expectations in regards to effort, conduct, and preparation this total will drop accordingly.  Note that being unprepared or being asked to leave class results in an automatic ZERO for the day.

 

 

 

ASSESSMENT GRADE (Weight = 20%)

 

Assessment:  Cognitive and Physical Development (Written, Skill, and other Assessments)

 

Explanation:  During and after most units each student will be evaluated with either a written or physical type assessment.  These assessments are usually worth 10 points.

 u1, u2, etc. = Unprepared for Class - Missing Clothing and/or Sneakers (-4 points)

late = Late to Class >>>> -1 point

0 = ZERO - Major Conduct/ Effort Issue (-4 points)

conduct = Conduct Issue  (-1 to 3 points)

effort = Effort Issue (-1 to 3 points)

jewelry - Wearing Jewelry (-1 point)

hair tie = Hair Not Tied Back Properly (-1 point)

gum = Needs to remove gum before attendance (-1 point)

med - Has medical exemption for the day - NO POINTS DEDUCTED (unless conduct becomes and issue that day)

a = Absent from class (no points earned - no points deducted for class)
