Good news!
Mrs. Saville will accept late work. But there is a catch...
Late Work
There is a deduction of 10
points per day, for each day the assignment is late.
For example, if an assignment is due on Monday, and you turn the
assignment in on Wednesday, the maximum number of points the assignment
can receive is
80 out of 100 (or an 80% out of 100%). Keep in mind, the
grade of 80% will apply only if the assignment is free of any errors,
and would have received a
100% if not for the late submission. If the assignment
contains errors or is incomplete, the appropriate number of points will
be deducted from the final grade,
in addition to the late points deduction.
Make-up Work
If an assignment is more than four days late, it will be
considered make-up work and is eligible for a grade of 65% or lower. The
grade of 65% will apply only
if the assignment is free of any errors, and would have
received a 100% if not for the late submission.
Late Work/Make-up Work Basket
In order to submit late work/make-up
work, you should follow these steps:
1. In the top, right hand corner of the assignment, clearly
write the number of days late in large print,
(if nothing appears in the top
corner, I will assume the assignment is make-up work) or write make-up
work in large print.
2. Drop the assignment in the
Late Work/Make-up Work Basket situated on my desk at the front of the
room.
3. You must approach me and let
me know that you turned in the assignment.
Absenteeism
If you are absent, the first day you return to
school you should ask me for the work you missed. The assignment should
be submitted on the following school
day and will not be considered late. Write the word "absent"
in large print in the top, right hand corner, then follow steps 2 and 3
from above. However, if the
assignment is not submitted on the following day, and no
special arrangements have been made with me, then late points will be
deducted from the final grade.
