KODA MIDDLE SCHOOL
HELPING YOUR STUDENT BE RESPONSIBLE
ATTENDANCE OFFICE 881-0474
STUDENT ABSENCE
If a student is going to be absent from school the parent should call the attendance office by 9 AM. (The Attendance Office phone has voice mail if you would like to leave a message the night before.) A note stating the reason for the absence should be sent in on the day the student returns if parent does not call.
ARRIVING LATE TO SCHOOL
Students should report directly to the attendance office and sign in. A pass will be given to the student to enter their class. A note should be brought in that states why the student is late to school.
LEAVING EARLY
A note signed by a parent must be brought to the attendance office BEFORE HOMEROOM OR GIVEN TO THE TEACHER DURING HOMEROOM. Students leaving early will be put on the daily attendance bulletin. Students should leave their class at their release time and meet their parents in the attendance office. An adult MUST come into the attendance office to pick up their student. Students may be released to adults other than parents/guardians only if their names are listed on the students release form that is on the back of the district registration cards.
END OF DAY
The last period of the day is extremely busy in the attendance office.
Any calls that come in during that time and are left on voice mail can not be guaranteed to be taken care of that day. Please do not come to the attendance office to pick up your child before the end of school (3:35) unless there has been PRIOR notification or it is an emergency.
