Students who visit this website will be given the opportunity twice each quarter to earn bonus points toward their quarter average. One opportunity is to complete a webhunt which has been designed to focus on a topic studied during the marking period. In order to receive the 10 bonus points, the rules listed below must be followed and NO exceptions will be made.
First you need to ask Ms. Valente for the webhunt assignment for the quarter you are currently in.
Next, you must complete the webhunt on your own; this must be an individual effort and if papers are submitted with identical answers both will be disqualified from earning the bonus points.
You may work on it from home or at school. If you need to go to the middle school libraries and/or computer rooms you may see Ms. Valente for pre-signed passes out of study hall or lunch, but keep in mind that these facilities are not open during all periods all days.
In order to receive the bonus points, you must turn in your webhunt by the day indicated to Ms. Valente. If you turn it in too late in the marking period and it cannot be graded in time to be added in to your average, then the effort will be lost. Fourth Quarter Webhunts are due no later than Friday, June 8.
Bonus points will be awarded only to students who have completed the webhunt AND ALL OTHER WORK ASSIGNED DURING THE QUARTER. These are bonus points to be added ONLY IF all other work has been done; this is not meant to be "extra credit" to replace zeroes on regular assignments. You cannot receive the bonus points if you have any zeroes. There are NO EXTENSIONS OR EXCEPTIONS ON DUE DATES.
