1. When are all three libraries available for student use?

Before school, 8:00A.M.-8:40 P.M. daily (No Pass required)

After school, 3:35P.M.-4:00 P.M. (Teacher Pass required)

2. How many books can I check-out at any one time?

A total of 5 library items may be signed out to you at any one time.
3. How long can I check-out library books?

Library books are due back in 3 weeks.
4. Are reference materials available for check-out?

Yes. Some reference sources are available for check-out. See individual library for details.
5. Are magazines available for check-out?

Magazines can be checked-out, but need to be returned the next school day.
6. Can I renew a book?

Yes. You can renew as long as there are no reserves on that particular book
7. How long is the renewal period?

You will have the renewed book for an additional 3 weeks.
8. Where can we get the passwords for the different databases?

Password sheets are updated annually and available in all 3 Middle School Libraries.
9. How can parents help their children with research at home?
There are several things you can do:

Familiarize yourself with the school Agenda Book given to your student; he/she should be recording Assignment Details there.

If you have access to a computer, explore the Databases/Websites under Online Research on the library homepage. These databases and websites were previously introduced to students in class (recommended by the librarian/teacher.)
10. What if all 3 Middle School libraries don't have the book I need?

Interlibrary loan, both within our district and the Greater Capital Region BOCES ,is available to all students. When students learn to use the online catalog, HORIZON, he also learns how to request any items wanted or needed. (hyperlink)
11. Can all students and teachers from all 3 Middle Schools access all 3 libraries?

Yes. All teachers and students can access all 3 libraries.
