Welcome to the Middle School Libraries!

Who We Are:

The Shenendehowa Middle Schools share three libraries:  Gowana Library, Acadia Library, and, Koda library. All three libraries are available to all students and staff members.

There is a library media specialist in each school along with library staff.
Acadia Library: Ann Hebert (librarian), Michele Michael (library aide), and Diane Yetto (secretary).
Gowana Library: Michelle McManus (librarian), Lynn Owen (library aide), secretary TBA.    
Koda Library: Lisa Correa (librarian) and Ann Louden (library aide).                    

All Middle School Libraries house print collections relating to the various curricular areas as well as extensive selections in literature and recreational reading. All three libraries provide access to numerous online databases, the Internet and the Horizon online catalog.

What We Do:

All three librarians work closely with classroom teachers to develop instructional activities that act in accordance with the NYS Standards and support curriculum content.

The libraries are essentially the hub of the schools where cooperative learning and collaboration with teachers is promoted and encouraged. We provide maximum access to all staff and students in order to foster a vibrant learning environment conducive to learning.
