Throughout the year, students will continue their journey through
the writing process, producing a portfolio collection of creative
pieces and essays. Students will continue to develop their skills
in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Short reading pieces
encompass a variety of genres, and emphasis is placed on the study
of literary elements. The literature presented thematically offers
collaborative units with Social Studies. Students will strive to
improve their ability to be effective communicators and critical
thinkers. The practice of grammar, spelling, and vocabulary skills
complement the curriculum throughout this course.
