Sixth Grade Mathematics at Shenendehowa Math : Curriculum based on the New York State Standards and the District’s Essential Contents and CompetenciesCurriculum Overview: Math is divided into several components, including, but not limited to: Whole Numbers, Place Value, Decimals, Metric Units, Graphs, Statistics, Fractions, Ratios, Proportions, Percents, Integers, Formulas, Probability, Problem Solving Strategies and a brief introduction to Algebra.
Textbook: We will be utilizing the "Glencoe" series in conjunction with outside resources. Glencoe offers a website that is referenced to on my homepage as well as my links page. Problem solving will be a major focus throughout the year as it is also a study skill integrated throughout the core classes.
Evaluation: Homework will be assigned and graded on a daily basis. Quizzes and tests will be announced with an appropriate amount of study time provided. Typically an assessment of this nature happens every other week. Throughout the year, there will also be performance task projects that will be assigned.
*Grading will be based on a point system.
