GREAT ESCAPE PERMISSION SLIP AND TRIP INFORMATION

 

Who: Acadia 8th grade

 

What: Annual end of the year trip for Acadia 8th Graders

 

Where: Great Escape Amusement Park, Lake George, NY

 

When: Thursday, June 7, 2007 from 9:15 am to 6:00 PM

 

How much:      per student:  $ 27.00

                         (With season passes:  $ 15.00)

Please make all checks payable to the Acadia Activity Fund

 

            Acadia’s annual 8th grade end of the year trip is on Thursday June 7, 2007. The 8th grade students will be traveling to The Great Escape Amusement Park in Lake George, New York. The cost of the trip includes bus ride, a one day park pass and a full lunch. This trip is an opportunity for the students to do hands on lab activities based on  concepts learned in Math and Science.  For example, students will use the indirect method for measuring the height of the Pirate Swing and feel positive and negative G forces on the Steamin’ Demon. 

 

                                    Schedule for the day:

 

9:15- board buses for the Great Escape

                                    10:15- arrive at the Great Escape

                                    10:30-12:00- Science and Math based lab activities

                                    12:00- 1:00- Lunch in one of the pavilions

                                    1:00- 4:45- enjoy the rides

                                    5:00- board buses for home

                                    6:00- arrive back at Acadia

 

*******Please pick up your child promptly at 6:00 PM at the Acadia main entrance

 

*******Please have your child return the attached permission slip and check, made out to Acadia Activity Fund, to his or her Homeroom Teacher by Thursday, May 24, 2007.  If you have any questions or financial concerns, please do not hesitate to contact any of your child’s teachers.
