Forming the Hypothesis

The solution to the problem is thoroughly described with incredible insight.

The prediction for the solution to the problem is well written and thought out.

The ‘educated guess’ makes sense, but could be explained further.

Testing the Hypothesis

All supplies are listed.  Outstanding effort is evident in the written procedure for the experiment.  It is   well developed and accurate.

Most of the supplies are listed and the steps for the lab are clearly explained and written in chronological order.

Many of the supplies are not listed.  Procedures are listed but are not in a logical order or are difficult to follow.

Only a few or none of the supplies are listed.  Procedures do not accurately list the steps of the experiment.

 Analyze the Results

Extraordinary effort is evident in drawing/graph; accurately displays important data and labels.

The drawing/graph displays clear, accurate data and is labeled neatly.

The drawing/graph displays clear, accurate data  but labels could be neater.

The data/labels in the drawing/graph is inaccurate or incomplete.

 _____

Conclusion

The conclusion thoroughly explains if the findings support the hypothesis and what is learned from the experiment.

The conclusion includes proof that supports the hypothesis or what is learned from the experiment.

The conclusion explains if the problem is solved but does not present any proof for your findings.
