6th Grade General Music

Each 6th grade student will have general music 40 minutes daily for one of the four quarters in the school year. Currently during the 2006-2007 school year
Acadia Team 6-2 meets during period 9 (2:55-3:35 PM)
Gowana Team 6-1 meets during period 3 (10:31-11:11 AM)
Koda Team 6-3 meets during period 4 (11:15-11:55 AM) 1st semester only
Koda Team 6-1 meets during period 5 (11:59AM-12:39 PM)
Acadia Life Skills Class meets during period 8 (2:15-2:51 PM 2nd semester only
Materials needed daily include:
Binder--3 ring with about 10 sheets of paper
Agenda
Recorder (available at local music stores as well as the school bookstore for a minimal cost $5.00--$7.00)
Pencil with eraser
Headphones in a zip lock bag hooked into binder to be used with the keyboards
CURRICULUM follows guidelines of the National Music Educators National Conference including:
Singing
Playing recorder
Playing keyboards
Study of Composers: biographies, listening examples, playing or singing examples
Composing Music
