Management Needs Program Information
The Shenendehowa Middle School 12:1:2 Management Needs program includes a special education class at each grade level for students in grade 6, 7, and 8. The 6th grade program is held in Acadia while the 7th and 8th grade programs are held at either Gowana or Koda, depending on the year as both programs follow a looping model. All classes are credit bearing. Some students have transitioned to us from the Elementary MN program. Some students will transition into the High School MN program, if appropriate.
The focus of the MN program is to educate students whose social, emotional, and/or behavioral difficulties impede their ability to learn. Each student in the MN program is identified as a person with a disability. Specific disability classifications may vary.
Students who are identified with a disability and placed in the MN program are then provided with the specific services they require in order to be successful.
