Q – Will I, as a parent/guardian, be notified if my son/daughter requests or is called into a Peer Mediation? A – No. In order to encourage empowerment, it is up to the student as to whether or not they would like to discuss Peer Mediation at home. Q – Is my son/daughter required to attend Peer Mediation when they receive notification? A - The Peer Mediation program is voluntary. We would ask that the student come down at the assigned time and state that they do not wish to participate in Peer Mediation.

Q – How does confidentiality play a role in Peer Mediation? A – Confidentiality plays a significant role when it comes to our Peer Mediators. The Peer Mediators are aware that all information stated within a Peer Mediation must remain confidential unless, of course, someone’s health and/or safety is at risk. Q – How much confidence does Acadia have in their Peer Mediators? A – We are extremely confident with our Peer Mediators . Twenty students, ten 7th grader and ten 8th graders, were involved in an intense two day training with Mrs. Nicolella, Mr. Green and Mrs. Reif. They were trained in many different situations regarding Peer Mediation.
