What can Peer Mediation do for your Family?

What does the Mediation Process Look Like?
  • Provide options for parents to help
their child settle disputes at school.
  • Develop conflict resolution skills
for use at home and in the community.
  • Help parents develop a more positive
    outlook on school.

  • Referrals to mediation are made
    by students, staff, and administrators.
  • The process is voluntary for everyone!
  • Students (2 trained mediators) follow
a well defined process of conflict
    resolution.
  • Disputants sign an agreement
(contract) at the end of the process.
  • Contracts are shared with the
    administration and involved staff
    members.
  • Volunteer staff members assist in
    the mediation when necessary.
