What can Peer Mediation do for your Family?
|
What does the Mediation Process Look Like? |
- Provide options for parents to help
their child settle disputes at school.
- Develop conflict resolution skills
for use at home and in the community.
- Help parents develop a more positive
outlook on school.
|
- Referrals to mediation are made
by students, staff, and administrators.
- The process is voluntary for everyone!
- Students (2 trained mediators) follow
a well defined process of conflict
resolution.
- Disputants sign an agreement
(contract) at the end of the process.
- Contracts are shared with the
administration and involved staff
members.
- Volunteer staff members assist in
the mediation when necessary.
