Welcome To Mr. Thomas's Eighth Grade Social Studies Classroom Web
Site. This is the place to be if you need info on what
we are doing in class, didn't get a homework assignment, want to
learn more about upcoming events or just want to learn a little bit
more about our past and how it affects our present!

Every week, I will include a helpful study skills tip for parents
and students to help make the middle years a little less trying.
Now that school is back in session it is time to start either
developing or, hopefully remembering, good study habits. A
consistent study time is important. Most kids need a break from
school after they get home. Setting up a homework time that allows
that short break but has your child getting to bed a t a good hour
can be difficult with the busy lives we all lead. Remember that
their job right now is to be a student and the benefits of good
study habits developed in Middle School are clearly shown to pay off
later in life! Provide a block of time that starts at the same time
every day (or as near to that as possible.). If the time is not
needed for homework, outside reading or review should fill up the
rest of the time.
Stay tuned for
information about this years trip. If you have more questions, feel
