Why The Ice Is Receding
The reason the ice is receding is because in the summer the ice starts to melt. However, polar bears are threatened by global warming and the hormone or disrupting chemicals. The habitat of walruses, seals, and penguins are also being effected by the ice. But the global warming could already be negative against the polar bears. The ice on Canada's Hudson Bay is melting from an average of three weeks earlier than in the mid-1970's. Because of that, the polar bears are being forced to move to land before being able to replenish their reverses of fat by the feeding of seal pups. The polar bears in the Hudson Bay are fasting for six to eight months and are relying on winter hunting for their survival. The longer the summer is the longer the polar bears are stranded on land. All year round the polar bears are hunted. But because of traditional methods the amount killed is not a threat to their survival.
