Cross Breeding

Cross breeding is when you take 2 animals, like a male lion and female tiger makes a liger.

<- This is a liger. However, a male tiger and female lion makes a Tigon!

<- This is a tigon. They look DIFFERENT!

There are also Bovine hybrids, or yak, buffalo, cattle, etc. mixes.

<- This is a pair of Dzo, AKA Yakow, which are male yak and cow cross breeds.

There are also Zebroids, which are zebras and any other equid, or horse-like species.

<- this is a zorse, or a male zebra and female horse.

<- This is a Zonkey AKA Zebrass. it is a cross between a male Zebra and female donkey.

You can also mix Wolves and stuff, like foxes, Coyotes, etc.

<- This is a coydog, or cross between a male coyote and female domesticated dog.

In crossbreeding horses, there are some genetics. Crossbreeding can be used to provide heterosis, which is the sudden increase in vigor and fertility caused by a sudden increase in heterozygosity. Heterosis from crossbreeding may make the horses you crossbreed improve in size, endurance, and resisting disease.
