Present: Jill Bush, Bill LeForestier, Chris Blaber, Ann Schwanda, Sarita Caserta, Jennifer Barnes, Ann Cocca,

Organizational
- Membership- Jennifer Barnes and Ann Cocca are new parent members. Mike Sergott
and Meg Campbell are new STA members.
- Meetings- A calendar with the scheduled
meetings was distributed at the meeting. Most meetings are on the 1st and
the 3rd Friday of each month. Jill suggested inviting student council
members to monthly meeting.
- Minutes- Minutes will be taken on a
rotating basis by each team member. Jill will have a schedule ready at the
next meeting.
- Roles and
Responsibilities
- Facilitator- Bill LeForestier
and either Terri O'Brien or Ann Schwanda will
be co-facilitators for meetings. Could transition to new co-facilitator
in January to replace Ann and Terri for next year. Facilitators to meet
with Jill Bush before each meeting to set agenda.
- Time Keeper- Jill Bush - to keep meeting
on schedule
- Materials
Manager-
Chris Blaber- make any
necessary copies needed for Partnership meeting. Historical Binder for
Partnership Team to be started.
- Note Taker- assigned on rotating basis-
to take notes of meeting and give to Sheila Ruby to e-mail to all members
and post on Shenet website.

Grade Transition/Walkthrough- Scheduled for 8/27/03 1-3pm and 8/28/03 10-12pm. No evening walkthrough this year.
Possibility 3-7pm for next year.

Character
Education
- Peer mentoring
- TIES- Program participated by all 6th grades.
Teachers and students worked on team building through activities.
Scheduled once a week during reading. Scheduling is difficult with 7th and
8th grade.
- Captain Outreach- Teachers and staff work with
students after school in facility in Turf Trailer Park. Activities include academic
support, crafts, and cooking.
- District Character Team-Possibility of middle
school conference to improve school environment.
- "Word of the Month"- posted on the
school calendar. Spotlight will publish article on "word of the
month" in newspaper each month written by a Shen School. Possibility of "word of
the month" poster in classrooms.
3. Improving Academics
- Reading Across America-
Positive feedback from parents concerning the summer book sale during
Student Spotlight.
