Going Beyond:

None this Quarter, but you need to start thinking about Erosion and Deposition for the 2nd quarter.

In this section you are expected to choose one of the "Going Beyond" activities and complete it in the time given for the project. Different activities to choose from during this project are: "Word Origins", "Explain it to Jose", "Science in the News" and many more. Make sure you check out the new web page link "Going Beyond" to find out exactly what to do and how much it is worth.

 

In-Class Laboratories:

Metric Money: help make cents out of the metric system.
·         Question: How is the metric system like our own system of money?
·         Materials: Paper, Writing & Coloring Tools and a mathematical imagination

Personal Measuring System: Take this lesson into your own hands.
·         Question: Why does a Standard need to standard?
·         Materials: String, Hands, Labbook, Ruler

Reaction Countdown: It will take a lot of nerve to do this experiment!
·         Question:  Can __________ react faster than ___________? 
·         Materials: Calculator, Ruler, Data Page, Pencil, Lab book
