Grading

Textbook: The American Nation (text should be kept at home).
Supplies: binder, 8 colored pencils, and school agenda.
Grading: course grades will consist of homework, class work, tests and projects. All assignments are assigned a point value. Your child has a grade sheet where they keep track of all assignments. Their overall grade can be calculated by adding up all their "my points" and dividing that number by the total "possible points."
A. HOMEWORK: Homework is assigned on Monday for the entire week. Points are deducted for late assignments.
B. CLASS WORK: Class work is assignments that are given in class and are to be completed in class. These may consists of individual work, group work, maps, presentations, and/or other activities.
C. TESTS: Tests are announced at least one week in advance and may consist of true/false, matching, multiple choice, fill in the blank, short answer and essays.
D. PROJECTS: Projects are major assignments that are usually given once a semester. They consist of planning, research, and construction. Most projects are completed in school. Please see list below.
