Magistra Griswold's MS Activities
Use a holiday like Halloween to spice up vocabulary reinforcement.
Fill in vocabulary words on pumpkins (Example on top of this doc HERE). Students work in pairs, each member of the pair with a different color highlighter. I read the English meanings, and the students race their partner to find the word in the pumpkin and color it. The "winner" has the most pumpkins in his/her color.
Use 2 pieces of holiday themed clip art to create a number of question/answer pairs. See my example at the bottom of this doc HERE. You will need to create the number of question/answer pairs as you have students in your class. Students need to find their match so to correctly reunite the witch to her cauldron (or whatever you choose to pair up). I've done this with "broken" hearts for Valentine's Day as well.
To practice numbers, use a number board. You read the numbers in Latin that you want the students to fill in on the number board. Examples HERE.
If you are short on time around Halloween, but want to do a cute Latin Club activity, copy the following document onto cardstock. Have the students decorate the skeletons with the Roman accessories.
