Each unit will have some type of an evaluation in the form of a test, quiz, DBQ or project. In preparation for tests, I always provide a review sheet and hold review classes prior to the test, usually the morning of the test. On a larger scale, you will be taking the 8th Grade New York State Social Studies Exam in early June. We will be doing extensive preparation for this test.Assignments:
The assignments will be listed on Monday for the rest of the week listed. This will include class work, homework and extended projects. This is listed in class and students are responsible for copying the information into their agenda.Absences:
It is your responsibility to get the missed work, for the days that you are out, when you return to class. The work will be in THE BINDER on the table. Do not come to me the next day and ask what you have missed before you get the work out of the binder. YOU are responsible for making up all missed work. Turn in all assignments that are due when you return to class. Missed quizzes and tests will be made up the day you return to school unless you have missed several days of class. It is easier to be in class, but some absences are unavoidable. You will find it easier to stay caught up by keeping an accurate agenda, and if needed, phoning a friend for missing assignments. Students who miss class for music lessons, doctors’ appointments or field trips should turn in their assignments before leaving school.Vacations:
If you go on vacation during the school year, it is also your responsibility to get the work that you will be missing. Please refer to your agenda for school policies on unexcused absences. A minimum of 5 school days notice is requested to get work that will be missed due to absences. Please see Mr. Millington if your absence is due to an emergency family situation.Questions:
