GRADES

Students will be graded on several things: quizzes, tests, homework, and an occasional project.

Students will be quizzed usually once a week.  In my class, the first five minutes of every class is spent reviewing; students should never not know what will be on their quiz!  Quizzes are on new material, but also on old!  I believe that students retain the most information with cumulative review.  A quiz in December will cover material from December, but also material from September on!  Students take notes in class, so please ask them to see their notes.  If students are not taking good notes, please feel free to contact me.  Also, students are instructed to take home their GLENCOE textbook to take home at the beginning of the year to use as a study resource.  Odd answers are found in the back of the textbook, so if you would like to review a topic with your child, you may find the topic in the book, assign the odd answers and check them together!

Quizzes count once, tests count twice, homework counts twice as well.

I would suggest that all parents contact the Guidance Office for a password to the Parent Portal!  I have my grades on line and it is a good way to check with your child on how they are progressing!
