
Anchors:
Our Anchors provide valuable information to the school by presenting daily announcements. Anchors also help to develop stories for news shows.
Live Responsibilities:
1. Proofread and rehearse daily announcements to ensure high quality.
2. Check microphone to ensure it is set up correctly.
3. Present announcements in a professional manner.
4. Check over teleprompter script and make sure the PowerPoint is working correctly.
5. Help in equipment breakdown.
Other Responsibilities:
1. Develop ideas for news stories.
2. Write scripts for "live" news shows.
Cameraman:
Each day our camera people work on taping the daily announcements. The camera people also go out on "assignment" and tape segments for our longer news shows.
Live Responsibilities:
1. Make sure the shot is framed correctly. (Anchors are centered, and the zoom is correct)
2. Check over all audio and video connections, and ensure that the cable signal is working.
3. Plug in and check the microphone for the anchors.
4. Familiarize yourself with the script and the technical needs of it. (i.e. when to pan, or change camera settings etc)
5. Help in equipment breakdown.
Field assignment responsibilities:
1. Prepare for the filming demands of the shoot. Will you need a microphone, tripod, or need to set the camera for low light?
2. Scout out an appropriate location to film segment. That is visually interesting and will be relate to the story.
3. Think about how long your story is and shoot enough tape to capture the action.
Production Crew:
1. Monitor cable feeds and audio quality.
2. Switch between camera angles.
3. Troubleshoot production problems.
4. Help in set up and breakdown of set and equipment.
Executive producer:
1. Help develop PowerPoint presentations.
2. Cue up PowerPoint and video feeds from computer.
3. Monitor broadcast and volume levels.
