The first rule in Cummingsville is to be respectful. Please respect yourself , others and your surroundings. It is a simple rule but one that we all must follow.
Second, try your best. In order to succeed in everything we do, we must try hard--that includes school. You may not get a 100 on every test or homework, but you will be satisfied if you know you tried your best.
Do not be afraid to ask for help. We all need help at one time or another, so speak up--be it in class or outside. I am available to help you 2nd and 9th period or by appointment before school. I can only help if you let me know.
Next, do all you homework. Homework will be assigned 3-4 times a week. Keep up with it, practice makes perfect. Every homework will be not graded, but you do not usually know which ones will or will not be graded--so do them all to be on the safe side. Any homework that is handed in late will be half credit and must be turned in by the end of the week it was assigned or it will remain a zero (except 4th quarter...no late work will be accepted unless due to absence)
Grades in S.S. are determined by combining all the points from homeworks, tests, quizzes, essays or projects given during a quarter. Each assignment is given a point value and all points are added together and divided by the total which gives each student a percentage out of 100.
EX:
245pts/300pts =82
(B-)Each day you should be prepared when you walk into Cummingsville. Please have your S.S. binder with you, as well as you black binder with your Agenda and pens and colored pencils. All work in S.S. is to be done in blue or black pen unless otherwise noted.
Last but not least--lets remember to have fun.
