THE NEW YORK STATE TEST

The New York State Intermediate Level Science Test consists of 2 parts:

1. The Laboratory Performance Practical- in this section of the test students will demonstrate their knowledge of science and their laboratory skills by completing three timed laboratory activities.  (April 2008)

2. The Written Test- this test consists of multiple choice questions and short answer questions that include information from grades 5-8.  Topics include Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Science. (May 2008)
