Team 7-1 Policies

Welcome to our 7^th Grade Team!  We are excited about the upcoming school year and hope to build true team comaraderie amongst ourselves.  As your team teachers, we would like to explain policies that all of us use in our classrooms. 

A.  Homework (posted on website:  www.shenet.org   teacher webpages Team 7-1)

1.      Homework is a vital part of all your classes and it is expected to be completed and handed in on time.  All assignments should be written in your agenda, and agenda and homework folder should go home daily.

2.      If for some reason you must hand in work late, it must be marked “LATE” or “ABSENT” on the top.

3.      Any work that is handed in late will be given half the credit of the original assignment.

4.        All late work must be handed in by Friday of the week it was due; if not it remains a zero in the grade book.

5.   Your Agenda is a schoolbook and therefore is not be destroyed in anyway (no
      ripping pages out)

B.  No Name Papers

1.      Any paper that is handed in without a name will be considered late and given only partial credit, after it is claimed. This is irresponsible and time consuming for teachers and a practice that is unacceptable.  Unclaimed papers will receive a zero!

C.  Test Corrections

1.      If you fail a test during 1^st and 2nd quarters it can be corrected to a 65, at the discretion of the teacher.

2.      Corrections must be done within a week after the test is returned.

3.      Seat time must be given so you and your teacher can discuss mistakes.

4.      No test correction will be allowed during 3rd and 4^th quarter.

D. Homework Club

1.      As a team we are always concerned when a student is struggling with low or failing grades (69 or below).  In order to address some of the difficulties a student may be having, we assign these students to extra help sessions, called Homework Club.

2.      These extra help sessions are held before and after school (depending on the teacher).

3.      Homework Club students are determined starting with the 1^st quarter interims and continues after each report card.

4.      Once assigned to Homework Club, students remain for the entire quarter.

E.  Team Calendar

1.      A calendar of upcoming events, tests, quizzes, or projects is housed in

      Mrs. Cummings’ room, Room 703.  Be sure to look at it frequently, as it is

      constantly updated.

F.  Restrooms

1.      As young adults, we expect that you will use the restrooms during the four minutes between classes.

2.        If you need to leave urgently in the middle of class, you must sign the log sheet and take the pass.

G.  Lunch Detention

            There are consequences for your actions.  You may be assigned a lunch detention

 at a teachers discretion.

H.  Music Lessons

            1.  If you will be missing class due to music lessons, it is your responsibility to

                see your teacher before the lesson.  You will hand in work that is due and get

                new assignments.

I. Absences

1.      If you are absent you should check the team website or call a friend for the assignments.  You also need to see your teachers the day you return to get anything you missed and were not able to do on your own at home.

2.      If you are absent for two or more days call the guidance office to get your work gathered for a parent to pick up.

***Team Resource***  All teachers are available for extra help.  If you are not free 9th period, then make an appointment with the teacher for extra help during 2nd , 3rd or 6th or after school.
