Class Rules and Regulations

Behavior: Students are expected to show up to class on time and prepared with the following: pen/ pencil, science notebook with loose leaf paper, and agenda book. Students must adhere to the lab safety rules and the Koda Code of Conduct.

Attendance:   Students are responsible for all missed classes and labs. We will assign each student a homework buddy at the beginning of the year.

Extra Help:  All students are encouraged to ask for extra help at the first sign of difficulty it is better to seek help as early as possible to prevent falling behind in the course. Extra help will be available during free periods and before and after school by appointment.

Grading: Grades are based on a points earned/ total possible points numerical system.  Homework assignments, lab reports, tests/ quizzes, and notebook checks are all part of the science grade. Students can calculate their grade at any time by adding the total points earned from all grades and dividing by the total possible points of all grades that quarter.

Labs: Lab activities are an essential part of the course as they develop skills such as measuring and teamwork. Labs points will be deducted for unexcused lateness. In order to maintain a safe environment Lab safety rules must be upheld at all times.

Successful Student: The successful student comes to class on-time, prepared, completes all assignments, studies for tests, seeks help when needed, and takes responsibility for his/her actions in class.
