The New York State Intermediate Level Science Test consists of 2 parts :
1: The Laboratory Performance Practical - In this section of the test students will demonstrate their knowledge of Science and laboratory skills by completing three timed laboratory activities.

2:The Written Test- This test consists of multiple choice questions (Part 1) and short answer questions (Part 2) that include information from grades 5- 8. Topics include Earth Science, Life Science and Physical Science.
