Course Description:
Each student will be exposed to each of the Microsoft office programs and develop specific projects in each. When students have completed this course they will have knowledge and an understanding of how each of the programs relate and affect our world. This is a ten week course taught over a 20 week span every other day.
Course Objectives:
After completing this course each student will:

| Be able to list and describe the four different types of technology | |
| Be able to explain positive and negative aspects of technology | |
| Have an understanding of the role computers play in technology | |
| Be able to create a Microsoft. PowerPoint presentation | |
| Be able to create three dimensional objects and models with Autodesk inventor 5.3 | |
| Be able to create and publish a real functional webpage using Microsoft FrontPage | |
| Be able to edit/create video presentations using Windows Movie Maker. |
Week
1 Introduction to
Technology
· Introduction to course material
· Assign computers to students
· Introduction to the four types of technology
· Introduction to the positive and negative aspects of technology
Week 2
Microsoft PowerPoint Project
· Students create a PowerPoint presentation around their nine period class schedule
· Students then will choose inventions out of a basket or can; choosing their research project. They will then create a PowerPoint presentation from their research on the internet.
Week 3-4
Web pages using Microsoft FrontPage

· Student will create five different web pages (Homepage, Family page, School page, Cools links, Hobbies page)
· Students will be taught the basics of web page design-layout-background
· Students will learn the basics of linking web counters-email links
· The instructor briefly instructs students in the FTP process (uploading)
Week 5-7
Autodesk Inventor
· Basic line drawing commands
· Basic dimensioning skills
· 3D modeling techniques
· Extrusions
· Revolutions
· Stereo project
· Phone project
Week 8-10 Windows Movie Maker
Lessons to be taught:
Importing clips/pictures
Transitions/special effects
Shrinking/cutting clips
Adding text on/before/after clips
Adding music
How to cut a song
Fade in and out of a song
Adding a voice over
Adding credits
Saving as a movie
Turning in on "S" drive
Directions: You are going to create a 2-4 minute News show using
windows movie maker. The best 2 from each class will be aired
on KTV. If you want to bring your video home you will need to bring
in a CD or copy it to your thumbdrive if it is large enough.
Homework: bring headphones to class each day.
