Frequently Asked Questions
Preparation for PE:
What will my son/ daughter need to be properly prepared for Physical Education class each day?
Each student will need to wear sneakers as well as an athletic shirt and/ or shorts to be prepared for class. The shirt and shorts must be different than the clothing that the student wore to school that day.
Will my child be going out when it’s cold?
Yes. We will be going outside for PE through the end of October. All students are encouraged to bring in sweatshirts and sweat/ wind pants in order to stay warm. Light athletic jackets that were worn to school can also be worn over PE clothing.
Can my child wear jewelry during PE class?
No. Jewelry is a safety concern during class and must be removed before class.
PE Lockers and our Locker Room:
Will my son/ daughter be assigned a PE locker to store his/ her belongings in?
PE lockers will be assigned on a first come first served basis. Unfortunately our locker room does not have enough lockers for all middle school students to have there own locker. Students that wait until the second week of school may not get a locker due to this shortage.
What will my son/ daughter need in order to sign out a PE locker?
Students will need a combination lock in order to be assigned a locker. A “Master” brand lock is recommended for its durability.
How can my son/ daughter avoid having belongings stolen or turn up missing while using his/ her assigned PE locker?
PE lockers should remain locked at all times. All valuables should be secured in the students locker at all times. We have found from past experience that belongings that went missing could always be traced back to a locker that was left open.
