DO YOU KNOW WHAT CHEATING
IS ?

- Having someone else do your homework for you
(friend, Mom, Dad, sister, or brother.)
- Copying answers to homework questions from
someone else.*
- "Working together" on graded assignments.*
- Copying answers from another student's paper while taking a
test.
- Changing answers on papers as you pass them in
to the teacher.
- Using someone else's notebook for an
open-notebook quiz or test.
- Using pages from someone else's notebook for a
notebook check.
- Copying work from someone else after you return
from an absence, instead of doing the work yourself. (Classnotes will
direct you to copy from a friend; all other work, especially papers which say
"turn in for credit", are to be done on your own.)
- Copying information from books, websites, or
other sources while writing a research paper. This is called
"plagiarism" and is very serious.
- Giving your work to someone else to be
copied; that makes you a cheater too.*
* When two papers are turned in which are
identical to one another, one paper is graded and then the grade is divided in
half (resulting in an automatic "F".) Both papers receive the reduced
grade because students who share work must also share the grade.
