In our study of American history we will also focus on what was happening in New York State during each of the historical periods we cover.
WRITING IN SOCIAL STUDIES

In addition, we will incorporate writing in the form of thematic essays and document based questions (DBQs,) as well as constructed responses (CRs) in continuing preparation for the eighth grade state exam.

Textbooks assigned to students in September may be left at home or in the locker at school; students do not need to carry the textbook to class with them every day. We have a class set of textbooks for use in the classroom.
