- You are expected to be in your assigned seat
and ready to begin class when the bell rings. You are also expected to
remain in your seat unless you have permission to leave it; wandering around
the room during the lesson is not permitted.
- You are expected to check the assignment board
each day and record the assignment in your Agenda.
- Food, candy, drinks are not allowed in the
classroom at any time. Water bottles are allowed only if the school
nurse specifies a medical reason for them. You may chew gum only if it
is not seen or heard; if it is you will be asked to throw it away.
- Walkmans, computer games, cell phones, toys,
etc. are not allowed in the classroom at any time. If you bring them,
you run the risk of losing them.
- You may leave the room with permission only.
Interruptions should occur at the beginning or end of the period or during
"down time" when the lesson will not be interrupted (unless it is an
emergency.) Sign-out sheet must be filled out completely before leaving the
room.
- You are not to speak when another person is
speaking. This includes the teacher, other students, and announcements
over the PA system or KTV. You are expected to raise you hand before
speaking; shouting out is not permitted.
- Hats, bandannas, tiaras, crowns, sunglasses, slippers,
pajamas, bare feet are not permitted in the classroom at any time. You
are expected to adhere to the school dress code (no underwear showing, no bra
straps showing, no bare midriff - shirts must meet pants) at all times.
- These expectations apply to classes when a
substitute is present as well. Non-cooperative students whose names are
left by a sub will serve a detention with Ms. Valente and write a note of
apology to the sub. If a student's name is left a second time it will
result in a discipline referral to the office. Subs also have the option
to write an immediate referral for conduct which they consider serious enough
to be handled by the office at the time of the incident.
