Homework Information

For fourth graders , the purpose of homework is to reinforce, practice, or enrich concepts  they have learned in class. They will be expected to complete 45 minutes to an hour of homework, Monday through Thursday.  In addition, some long term assignments may need to be completed on weekends.

 If you want to help your child get on the right homework track, try these strategies.

Establish a routine. 

• As much as possible, do homework at the same time each night.

• Set up a consistent study place and keep it well stocked.

• Check your child's agenda  with him or her daily.

Stress responsibility

• Monitor homework, help only when necessary.

• Reward independence and completion.

• Let your child's work stand on it's own.

Stay positive

• Communicate with your child's teacher if your child is having difficulty.
